Microneedling works by enhancing the body’s natural processes. A group of micro needles vibrates across the skin surface, piercing it with vertical movements. Thousands of micropunctures stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which plays a crucial role in the development of happy and healthy skin.
Microneedling can have amazing results. Microneedling hit the U.S. market in 2011. With its 6,000 practitioners, it is being used worldwide. Since it is minimally invasive, it has been proven to rejuvenate skin and has a much faster recovery time than other skin treatments like the ILP laser or chemical peels. Microneedling has been shown to be effective in treating a diverse range of skin issues.
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Over-sized pores
- Stretch marks
- Smokers’ lines
- and many more ...
Do microneedle treatments hurt? Will my skin bleed? What should I expect my skin to look like after a treatment? Is there downtime?
Yes, micro needling, especially on the bony parts of your face like your forehead will hurt. The pain, is short-lived, though. A practitioner can do an area, like your forehead, in about 4 minutes. The more fatty part of your face, such as your cheeks, hurt less. Practitioners can use a numbing cream on your face to reduce pain before starting the procedure.
During micro needling your skin may have some pinpricks of blood but your skin does not bleed after a treatment. Your face may look a little red in some areas. The microneedles may create an “orange peel” look, with many small holes in some areas. However, within a few hours, the redness fades.
Is Microneedling safe?
Yes, Microneedling treatment is safe. Since injections are not part of the treatment, allergic reactions and side-effects are not likely to occur. Since the treatment is minimally invasive, there is virtually no downtime. Your skin heals quickly and after care is simple skin care that you can do at home.
When will I see results?
Within 24-48 hours, your skin is fully healed and will start to improve in appearance. You will notice gradually improvements. Since skin naturally heals itself every 45 days, your skin will show more results at the 6-8 week mark and will continue to improve over time.
Do you recommend one treatment? Or a series of treatments?
Every person’s needs are different. At Trilogy, we are happy to give you a free personal consultation to discuss your needs.
Even though you will see results after one treatment, generally, we recommend a series of treatments for even more drastic results.

What is ProCell Micro-Needling? How does it differ from other forms of micro-needling?
Basically any kind of micro-needling works by pricking your face with tiny needles. Each needle makes a tiny hole in your skin. These holes are called micro-channels. Each channel is like a tiny wound that your body will heal. This healing process creates collagen which gives skin a smoother, healthier appearance. Micro-needling is great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing pore size, and minimizing the appearance of acne scars.
In the past, micro-needling was done with a device that looked like a pen. The aesthetician would basically prick your face with the small needles on the end of the pen. A device that looks like a roller has also been used. Even though both of these tools do stimulate collagen, they both have negative effects such as the procedure taking close to an hour, being more painful, and taking longer to heal due to these instruments leaving tiny cuts on your skin as well as the holes. The other problem with using these tools is that small gaps between needles holes were common. Some areas of the skin got the treatment and some were missed.
ProCell Micro-Needling eliminates these negative effects. Micro-needles are delivered with a hand-held device with a large head that quickly stamps the face with needles. The channels are evenly spaced and uniform in size and depth.
